Marcelino Barsi

GODDAMNED IMPETUS FOR LIVING

September 18th to October 17th

903 Lansdowne Ave, Toronto

Street level accessible

As our inaugural show in Toronto we are proud to present a solo show by Mexican artist Marcelino Barsi.

Through intuitive gestures translated into sculptures, textile paintings and textile drawings, Marcelino explores the notion of genuine motivations. The revolving thought at the centre of this exhibition is: "GODDAMNED IMPETUS FOR LIVING", this prompts questioning where do our motivations come from? What masks do we wear to try to shape those motivations to adhere to the social contract and what do we leave behind throughout every step of that process?

Marcelino utilizes these thoughts as leverage to create pieces that reflect a child-like honesty to his art-making process.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to comply with provincial and municipal regulations about gatherings and social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, VISITORS MUST BE WEARING A MASK AND RESPECT SOCIAL DISTANCING WHILE THEY ARE INSIDE TAP Art Space.
