TAP is proud to present a transdisciplinary exhibition of two Latin American Montreal-based artists. Colombian-Canadian interdisciplinary artist Laura Acosta, and Mexican Architect David Jaime Ruiz.

Through this collaboration and informed by their experiences as immigrants to Canada, the artists explore notions of representation, belonging and embodiment of spaces. Utilizing a performance-activated sculpture and virtual reality piece, this exhibition presents a space of liminality in which abstract floating bodies are suspended in a state of repetitive motions and unresolved gestures.

SER/VINIENDO – BE/COMING - DE/VENIR proposes a conversation between physical and intangible realities, where the roles of performer and viewer are blurred as both find themselves in a perpetual loop between being and becoming within the constraints posed by the spaces they inhabit.

TAP est heureux et fier de présenter une exposition transdisciplinaire de deux artistes latino-américains basés à Montréal. Laura Acosta, une artiste interdisciplinaire colombo-canadienne et l'architecte mexicain David Jaime Ruiz.

En se basant sur leur expérience d'immigrants au Canada, ces artistes explorent en collaboration les notions de représentation, d'appartenance et d’occupation des espaces. Utilisant une sculpture activée par performance et une œuvre de réalité virtuelle, cette exposition présente un espace de transition dans lequel des corps flottants abstraits sont suspendus dans un état de mouvements répétitifs et de gestes irrésolus.

SER/VINIENDO – BE/COMING - DE/VENIR propose une conversation entre les réalités physiques et intangibles, où les rôles de l'interprète et du spectateur sont flous, car tous deux se trouvent dans une boucle perpétuelle entre l'être et le devenir, contraints par les limites posées par les espaces qu'ils habitent.
