Of Lebanese descent, Chantal Khoury is a Tkaronto (TO) based artist. Her recent paintings are the result of months of rigorous experimentation with new techniques. Khoury coopts techniques from Modern Abstraction, prioritizing form over meaning. She uses these techniques to insert an informed subjective response, supported by historical records and lived experience. Her compositional references are taken from inherited objects and motifs brought to Canada from Lebanon through immigration.
